Job Title: Scheduling Manager – Highway Construction
Location: Buffalo, TX
Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules to ensure that all activities are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Manage Project Schedules: Create and update detailed project schedules (Gantt charts, Critical Path Method, etc.) for highway construction projects, incorporating all project phases from initiation to closeout.
Coordinate with Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather schedule data, track progress, and adjust timelines as needed.
Monitor Progress and Milestones: Continuously monitor project activities, track milestones, and update schedules based on actual project progress, ensuring timely completion of work.
Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks, analyze their impact, and collaborate with the project team to develop mitigation strategies.
Resource Allocation: Assist in the allocation of resources (labor, equipment, materials) by ensuring that schedule updates reflect accurate resource loading and availability.
Reporting and Communication: Generate and distribute regular schedule reports to stakeholders, including variance reports, critical path analyses, and forecasted project completion dates.
Schedule Audits: Regularly audit and validate the accuracy of project schedules, ensuring consistency with project plans, contracts, and requirements.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all scheduling activities comply with the company’s processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Cost Control: Coordinate with the project controls team to ensure that the schedule is integrated with cost tracking systems for accurate financial forecasting and budgeting.
Change Management: Work closely with the project team to incorporate scope changes into the schedule, ensuring timely updates and communication.
Must be able to work on projects at various, unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Will accept a Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field and 3 years of experience as a scheduler in highway construction or a similar industry.

Skill Requirements:
Must have at least 3 years of experience in the following skills:
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other relevant tools.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of highway construction processes, techniques, and project management methodologies (Critical Path Method, Earned Value Management).
Data Analysis: Ability to analyze complex project data and identify potential risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
Project Management: Meticulous approach to creating, updating, and maintaining project schedules with accuracy, and identify and address scheduling conflicts or delays promptly.
Solid understanding of construction scheduling methodologies, including Critical Path Method.
Experience utilizing Primavera P6 Scheduling Software in highway or large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
